MYSTERY BEHIND THE JAIPUR RAPE CASE

BACKGROUND

India is a country where women hold high status in the society but still we do not have strict measures to protect them. We have various laws strictly framed to protect their life but seemed to have many loopholes. Rape is considered as a most heinous crime done on women and statistics states that it is quite prone in India. We have various laws to regulate such heinous crime but when it comes to the implementation part, we lack somewhere or we need to make an attempt to have a hold upon it. Thus, abruptly leads in interpreting the crime in a diversified way which sometimes even leads to miscarriage of justice. The change in the definition of rape is due to the liberal interpretation of the term. It is the need of the hour and we have to move according to the present scenario. Legislature and judiciary are trying to curb this issue-defining these terms in a more concrete manner.

It is expedient to change the human perspective and provide a new dimension to the definition of rape keeping mind the current scenario. We campaign and create awareness about gross injustices and abuse that happen in the Indian Legal system. Almost in every offence, the rule of strict interpretation should be established so that there would be no loophole and chances for unjust in the social environment. The recent in a change in the definition of rape is due to the incessant growth of such activity and liberal interpretation of the statute.

KEY ISSUE (MYSTERY BEHIND THE JAIPUR RAPE CASE)

The article revolves around the mystery behind the Jaipur Rape Case. In the last few days, two serious crimes of rape took place in Jaipur. The first one took place on June 22, when an unknown person took a four-year-old girl with him on a motorcycle and later left her near her house after around two years. Later it was found that the girl was raped. After that on July 1, in the same area, some unknown person took a seven-year-old girl on a motorcycle from a grocery store and later left her close to her house after two hours. The girl later reached her home and it was found that she has been raped.

The seven-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by an unknown person in the Shastri Nagar area in Jaipur. The girl was found next week near her house on Monday night and was taken to a local hospital where the doctors referred her to JK Lone hospital. Her condition is stated to be stable.

According to the police the girl was abducted by a motorcycle-borne man and taken to a nearby place where she was raped. Police also said that this is a heinous crime and the culprit should be hanged. The police are making all efforts to nab the accused.

After the incident came to light, a large number of people assembled outside the Kanwatia hospital, where the girl was initially taken, following which additional policemen were deployed in the area to maintain law and order.

Violence erupted outside the hospital in Jaipur over the rape of a seven-year-old girl. The protesters torched 160 vehicles. They are demanding the accused to be arrested and punished.

A police force has been deployed for maintaining law and order in the city. The Internet has also been suspended in several areas. The Rajasthan government also gave a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the seven-year-old girl.

CONCLUSION

The accused was arrested by police back then and he was awarded life imprisonment and the mystery behind the Jaipur rape case was solved. The head constable further informed that this accused, named Sikandar, was seen in the same area when these two incidents took place on June 22 and July 1.

Sikandar was arrested when he went to meet an acquaintance, a tea-stall owner, in the Bhimganj Mandi area of Kota. One of the 12 police teams that were sent across the state had information that Sikandar was in Kota.

Through police records, it was found that there were 10 cases registered against him. He first committed a crime in 2001. Then came out of jail in 2015. He is currently 34-35 years old.

The police said the man has been previously accused in at least four cases of sexual violence. Jaipur Police Commissioner Anand Srivastava said that Sikandar alias Jivanu was convicted of unnatural sex and murder of an 11-year-old boy in 2004 and sentenced to life imprisonment. After he was released from jail in 2015, he allegedly molested two girls in Bhatta Basti area in 2017.
